Gold Rush Rules and Regulations

  1. Players must be 19 or older to play Gold Rush.

 

  1. Players must be a Canadian resident.

 

  1. Players can register online, in person at the Elizabeth Fry Society Gold Rush office, by phone or at any of our retail locations.

 

  1. Information collected from registration forms are stored in our database.

 

  1. The Gold Rush Number assigned at the time of registration will be the player’s permanent Gold Rush number.

 

  1. A preprinted token will be placed in our Gold Rush drum and remain there permanently unless a written request to remove the number is received via email or at the Elizabeth Fry Society Gold Rush office.

 

  1. One numbered token will be drawn each week and identified as a “Winner” if the player has paid or a “non-Winner” if the player has not paid. You must have paid your number to win. A Winner takes home half of that week’s jackpot. A non-Winner collects zero, and that half of the jackpot rolls over to the following week’s draw.

 

  1. Players can have multiple Gold Rush numbers.

 

  1. You need to register for each number separately.

 

  1. Your permanent Gold Rush number(s) go into the drum once a completed registration form arrives in the office.

 

  1. All registered numbers will be in play each week, regardless of whether the number is paid or unpaid.

 

  1. The cost for each draw is $2.00 per Gold Rush number. Any remainder from payments made that are not in increments of $2.00 will be deemed a donation. As an example, a payment of $25 will result in $1.00 donation.

 

  1. Players can pay in advance for up to 52 draws in increments of 3, 6 or 12 months.

 

  1. Players playing at our retail locations must be careful to write legibly when writing the Gold Rush number on the sticker before applying it to payment. If we cannot understand a player’s handwriting, the payment cannot be entered into our system. The number will be unpaid for that week.

 

  1. Please be sure to write legibly. If the number can be viewed both ways, underline the bottom of the number. Example, 606 could be read upside down as 909. The same could be said for 1101 it could be read as 1011.

 

  1. In the event a Gold Rush number is not provided or eligible on a payment, said payment will be deemed unclaimed. Unclaimed payments will be held for 30 days. All unclaimed payments remaining after the hold period will be treated as donations to the Elizabeth Fry Society Gold Rush.

 

  1. Payments made at our retail locations in the Gold Rush boxes are collected every Thursday evening no later than 8pm. In-store Payments must be made before that time, to ensure eligibility for that week’s draw.

 

 

  1. The draw closes every Thursday at 8:00 PM for Friday’s draw. Players can pay for their Gold Rush number(s) online by e-transfer, by phone, in our office and at our 24/7 drop box until that time.

 

  1. Customer payment information will not be saved.

 

  1. We draw one number each week. It will be either a Winner or a Non-Winner. The name registered to the drawn Gold Rush number, and an amount of jackpot will be used for promotional and advertising purposes including, but not limited to, print, e-mail, TV, radio, advertisements, social media, audio/visual/digital and at the discretion of the Gold Rush team.

 

 

  1. The draw will be every Friday at 3:00pm at the Elizabeth Fry Society office unless the draw date falls on holiday. In the event of a holiday Friday, the date of the draw will be determined and posted to our Facebook page.

 

  1. Winners will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail.

 

  1. Players do not need to be present or available by phone at the time of the draw to be a Winner. Every effort will be made to contact our Gold Rush Winners. Winners have 90 days from the date of the draw to collect their winnings.

 

  1. A picture ID is required to collect your winnings. It must match your name and address on file.

 

  1. Winnings will be paid by E-transfer or Cash to the exact name provided on the registration.

 

  1. It is each player’s responsibility to update their registration information on their number(s) with the Gold Rush office should it change.

 

  1. Winners agree to have a photograph of winning and releases all rights to said photograph for promotional and advertising purposes, including but not limited to, print, e-mail, TV, radio, advertisements, social media, audio/visual/digital at the discretion of the Gold Rush team for promotional purposes to Elizabeth Fry Society Gold Rush and affiliates.
  2. If you no longer want to play your Gold Rush number, you may request to remove it from the draw once 20 weeks have passed since the date it was registered. To do this, you must either complete a removal form or send us an email with your request.

 

  1. Once your registration is cancelled or removed, your number may be reissued to another player.

 

  1. If a box is stolen or compromised during a draw week, we will be unable to fairly confirm entries from that location. In this case, the draw will be treated as a no-winner week, and all funds collected will automatically roll over to increase the prize for the following week’s draw.

 

  1. If a player of a Gold Rush number his deceased and their number is paid and drawn as a Winner, the proceeds will be awarded to their estate.
